Module Description

In November of 2024, the American people will elect their next president and their decision will have moral and geopolitical consequences beyond its borders. In the build-up to the election, what do theological and biblical voices say regarding some of the major political issues (from the War in Ukraine to immigration and abortion) and how do the unresolved problems of racial injustice still plague both the US election and the future of the country? And why are those lessons relevant for Ireland today?

Peter Admirand is the Deputy Head of School in Theology, Philosophy, and Music and the Director of the Centre for Interreligious Dialogue at Dublin City University. He is the author of five books, most recently, Destruction, Ethics, and Intergalactic Love: Exploring Y: The Last Man and Saga. A dual American and Irish citizen, Peter moved to Ireland in 2004 with his family from New York and returns to visit there every year.
