Module Description
Hoping against All Hope
A Day of Advent Reflections
with Jude Lal Fernando, Sean Goan, Peter McVerry and Lara Kelly
What is the meaning of Advent, the Second Coming of Christ? As the year comes to an end has that Coming got closer or more distant? Homelessness abounds as the winter dawns! Refugees flee for life and do not reach the shore! War is glorified as the guarantor of peace! Whose peace? The earth is further tortured! Where lies hope? In what way can we hope against all hope? How could the Second Coming be a reality in our midst? This day of reflection will be guided by those who are deeply committed to justice, peace and integrity of creation. We are called to commit ourselves to hasten the Second Coming of Christ by deeply listening to the cries of the people and cry of the earth so that the hope of a new heaven and earth will be energised as the new year dawns. Join us to proclaim hope in the midst of despair.
