Module Description

Lumen on wheels Field Trip

First Fragments: Biblical Papyrus from Roman Egypt (Chester Beatty Library)

Join us on a guided tour of this unique exhibition with Kieran O’Mahony OSA.

The Chester Beatty Library holds one of the world’s most important collections of early Christian manuscripts. The First Fragments exhibition features pages from some of the earliest surviving biblical papyrus books, “revealing a world of book production and early Christian scholarship in Roman Egypt” (from the Chester Beatty Library website; for more information visit: https://chesterbeatty.ie/exhibitions/first-fragments/)

Our guide will be Kieran O’Mahony OSA, a biblical scholar, author, lecturer and founding member of the Tarsus Scripture School.

We will meet at 10.15am at the Chester Beatty Library.
